Polypropylene - click to learn more

Polypropylene honeycomb core is a unique cell structure that is thermally fused together to form a honeycomb block. Each honeycomb cell has a tubular form and is inherently stable. Each block can be cut to any thickness to produce the appropriate core required for your application.

Polypropylene honeycomb core is ideal for applications in transportation including military, marine, medical vehicles, in storage containers and boxes, in building and construction and more.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Best medium density, corrosion resistant core
  • Can be used in curved panels
  • Easy to cut
  • Cost effective
  • Sound and vibration dampening
  • Recyclable
  • Energy absorbing
  • Thermo formable

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS

Treatment Options

  • Corona treatment

Material Thickness

  • Common thicknesses are: 1/4”, 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1 ½”, 2”
  • 0.25” to 24.0”

Sizes Available

  • Maximum one-piece core size is 7’ X 10’
  • Different cell size (density) available

PROPERTIES AND FEATURES

Mechanical Properties

  • Corrosion, fungi, rot, chemical, and moisture resistant
  • Good compression strength

Bond-ability

  • Good bond-ability
  • Can use scrim or scrim less core (Corona treatment needed for scrim less)
